Internet Explorer 9 at MIX10
As General Manager of the team, Dean Hachamovitch is responsible for the design, development, and release of Internet Explorer. We welcome Dean back to the stage as one of our MIX10 keynoters in Las Vegas next month. After all, what would our premier web conference be without a browser update!? Dean will talk about changes and improvements that have been made to Internet Explorer 9 since PDC09, and his talk is sure to include a couple of surprises.
Register for MIX by February 21st , and save $200.

Is a beta for IE9 coming?

@shaythai. Don't be surprised it is made available during MIX.
Just so there is no confusion, I am not a MS employee so my conjectures mean diddly-squat. I was predicting that MS Courier would be announced at CES and then at MWC and it was a no-show each time.
Now I am hoping for a showing at MIX, although I realize it is a software conference. But, miracles do happen.

I wonder what IE9 will mean to web developers.... I hope it's like IE8 and IE7compat not just another browser we as developers need to manually create fixes for.
Webslices and stuff in IE8 were amazing, I hope they add neat stuff like this in IE9....
But most importantly, I hope this browser finally gets some speed. I'm not talking about render speed, I don't care about 0,001 or 0,01 seconds I need to wait for a webpage to load, but more like the speed improvements I hope they made in making new tabs, windows etc. Opening a tab in IE8 right now takes as much time as opening Google Chrome with 20 fully loaded tabs. Sure chrome hasn't got the security IE has, but just to compare the speeds is making IE8 terrible.
However, I have my last hope for IE9.... Look forward to give it a try.

@Kamal Prasad:
I bet Courier-ish stuff will show up at PDC later this year.
I could be wrong, but consumers/business only have so much money and too much buzz can trample the good buzz of other products.
Natal, WinPhone, Halo and others need to have a good holiday. Maybe courier can be mentioned without diminishing the buzz of MSs other offerings.
Exciting times, nonetheless.

Firefox is a lazy, robust mammoth. Slow as hell. So IE is.
Chrome is fast. Use chrome. Or Safari. Webkit is the point.

I´m a hard user of IE8, and I too hope this new browser finally gets some speed, likes Peter van Dam said. Comes IE9.
