  • Can't wait! Windows Phone 7 is made of win. This is going to be an awesome conference!

  • Looking forward to seeing this and maybe getting away from Objective c? :)

  • @Jeremy

Why would you want to move away from the iPhone though? Have you taken a look at MonoTouch - all the goodness of the iPhone with .net!

  • @David

Having to release your app through Apple's App Store is reason to move to a new platform.

  • Definitely will be there and assist to these Windows Phone 7 Series sessions!

Just assisted today to the press conference and I am still amazed..

    Mix, here I go :)

  • Crap, now I might actually have to go to MIX 2010.

There's only one word I want to hear at the Windows Phone 7 developer sessions: Silverlight.

A lot of confusion on WM7 and pts of differentiation vs the iPhone. I understand it will support Silverlight, but will it support Adobe Flash as well?

  • If WM 7 development is not Silverlight (4?) based this will be a major, major disappointment. I'd have to question the whole strategy.

if it's not on silverlight, then what would it be on? based on those demos i'm leaning towards SL

  • I have heard some rumor that it will be based on XNA, not Silverlight.

Will there be any information regarding game development for WP7 at the Game Developer's Conference the previous week in San Fran?

It's tough to justify two conferences in a row.

  • I can't wait for MIX. Whether or not I'll get to go. I'll be hooked to my screen soaking in the new info.

  • Oh, this will be fun. Anyone wanting to get a beer and discuss Windows Phone development, follow/DM me at #AuriGroup - we've got a number of apps in the Marketplace and it would be great to discuss with other devs our mutual experiences

  • Whoops, I meant @AuriGroup... felt like a noob for a sec there, lol

Just saw that there will be Windows Phone sessions at GDC. I think that's a great decision but I paid for a Mix pass in addition to a GDC pass specifically because of the WP7 info that I believed was only going to be available at Mix.

Can you provide some idea of the overlap between these conferences? The GDC site has specific session information while the Mix session info is still up in the air.

  • Just (really) waiting for MIX10 announcement about Windows Mobile 7 Series. Windows Mobile 7 Series took us upward.

  • Free the dev tools ASAP. Learn from Apple's mistake. Don't make it hard for me to acquire the tools to develop the apps. The entire Android platform is free. If Win Phone 7 series tools are free and supports SL4, It's going to ROCK!!

  • I predicted the launch of Microsoft's free phone software back in february:

Microsoft Visual Phone Developer Express 2010

    http://www.superwasp.net/weblog/2010/02/microsoft-visual-phone-developer.htm

I hope they'll release it for the general public soon.

  • Now that is a sexy piece of hardware.

I so want Microsoft Visual Phone Developer Express 2010.

What about those of us who cannot attend MIX10 for one reason or another ... will there be a delay in getting our hands on the devkits or can we expect them to be available on MSDN pretty much straight away?

I urge you not to make the same mistake as other companies (as well as other teams/platforms within Microsoft) who kept certain dev tools too close to their heart for too long - which ultimately led to killing off the dev market on these platforms before it even took off.

  • can't wait to begin offering window phone 7 apps to our dj customers.

  • cant wait , its gonna be hugeee

After just attending the keynote, I don't see any exclusive Windows Phone support for having attended Mix. Could someone explain what exactly Mix attendies are getting in addition to the public tools?

This is very misleading. There is nothing exclusive about attending MIX event. You could have got the tools and all video content without shelling out so much money.

I agree that it was very misleading and no one here will offer an explination. Mix is a great event but this was our major reason for attending. Also, the emulator is missing a bunch of functionality so it's really not a substitute for development hardware.
