Building Cloud Services with Windows Azure Platform

Windows Azure platform allows you to deploy and scale your web applications transparently in the cloud. You can build Azure application with Microsoft ASP.NET and Microsoft SQL Server, or with open source components such as PHP and MySQL. Gain the skills to architect and develop real-world applications using Windows Azure. It is expected that attendees have some prior experience with Windows Azure, and the Azure Services Training Kit is a recommended prerequisite. During this half-day workshop, we show how to build basic Windows Azure applications on Microsoft and open source technologies, and introduce best practices for deploying, managing, and scaling your applications.

Really enjoyed this session, will the deck be available for download?

  • I'll try and post all the bits (decks, demos links) to my blog later today if it turns out they're not going to post them officially on the site here like last year.

  • The Speaker was indeed knowledgeable about Azure and fun on how did he explained the session, which is appreciated, but the session was not focused properly in my opinion. Too much powerpoint and high level approach but no low level coding and getting into "building basic azure applications" which was the first point of the session description.

I ended up without having my technical skills improved in any way respecting Azure and I am unhappy on how this session has been focused, around 70-80% theory & Best practices and 20% practical show-off but not really didactic and focused on making the attendee learn.
